2020 Domaine Jean Chartron Puligny-Montrachet

Special Price $84.97 Regular Price $95.00

Winemaker Notes: Pale golden yellow. The nose is fine, very elegant, vanilla, citrus and peach fragrances. On the palate the wine is opulent with honey, gingerbread, lovely freshness, good balance and long persistence.

John Gilman - "The 2020 Puligny villages bottling was the one wine that I thought was still a bit unsettled from its early November fining and not showing to full advantage. It offers up scents of apple, white peach, chalky soil tones, white flowers and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, reserved and shows good depth at the core, with bright acids and good length, but it was a bit out of sorts and not showing the focus that I am sure will arrive once it settles back into its own with a bit more time in tank. I am sure it will be quite good. 2022-2045+ (90-91pts)"

Vinous - "The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Village comes from Les Levrons and Derrire la Velle plus wines exchanged with other growers. It has a crisp, quite reserved, stony bouquet - one that you might assumed comes from a much cooler growing season. The palate is well balanced with a slightly viscous opening, fine acidity, a little honeyed towards the Chassagne-like finish. Enjoy this over the next 6 to 8 years."

Burghound - "Here the nose is notably more floral in character with its array of acacia, carnation and rose petal notes that add a touch of elegance to the ripe white orchard fruit and anise scents. The sleek, intense and more refined medium weight flavors deliver solid length if only average depth. Still, the underlying material appears to be of sufficient quality that more complexity should develop in time and my rating assumes that it will. *Outstanding*"
